New case study SWISS / CROSSMOS

New Case Study about SWISS’ experiences when implementing CROSSMOS

The case study focuses on the experiences SWISS made when implementing CROSSMOS. It also gives some information about the problems that arose during implementation (mainly connectivity) and about the possible savings that an airline can have by replacing the paper logbook with an electronic logbook.

CROSSMOS on Edelweiss Air

CROSSMOS® eTLB live on Edelweiss

Since April 1st, 2017 the complete fleet of Edelweiss Air AG is equipped with CROSSMOS® – the electronic technical logbook by CrossConsense, Frankfurt. The route network of Edelweiss not only includes most of the European holiday destinations but also some interesting places outside of Europe like Calgary, Cape Town and Mauritius e.g.

ACSIS wins 2 Sky Stars Awards

ACSIS won 2 Sky Stars Awards

ACSIS, CrossConsense’s software for predictive and preventive maintenance, won 2 SKY STARS awards. The voting is organized on an annual basis by b2bmedia – one of the leading online business portals in Bulgaria and supported by the Ministry of Tourism of Republic of Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian Aviation Oscar in the category Sky Soft for the best software solution for travel or aviation went to ACSIS because the software is recognized to be a very helpful tool for the aviation industry all over the world.
The second award, the b2b Media Sky Favorite, a special award by b2b media, was given to Svetoslav Petrov, Vice President ACSIS at CrossConsense, because Svet convinced the jury that airlines could easily prevent AOGs and delays and even more severe problems by implementing ACSIS into their processes.

Crossmos eTLB now live on SWISS

CROSSMOS® eTLB now live on the entire fleet of SWISS International Air Lines

Beginning of this week SWISS International Air Lines finalized the go live of CROSSMOS® electronic tech log on its entire fleet. The last A/C was an A321 – belonging to the group of short-range airplanes which have been rolled out after the long-range A/C and the Bombardier CSeries (CS100).
Every single aircraft of SWISS’s diverse fleet of 94 aircraft is now equipped with a technical logbook which means that on every A/C there are two tablets with the CROSSMOS® software as well as a little router to ensure connectivity.
The main obstacles SWISS had to overcome on its way to paperless aircraft operation had to do with connectivity and the acceptance of the new technology by some of the crew members.
“I am sure that within a short period of time not a single employee wants to go back to the paper process. We can claim to be the first airline that does not use paper throughout the entire process of reporting issues in the flight and cabin logs as well as back-reporting them in the technical log. The whole process from collecting a complaint to archiving a complaint is digitized.”, says Marcus di Laurenzio, project manager of the technical logbook project at SWISS.
The next airline to be equipped with CROSSMOS® is Air Dolomiti, an Italian regional airline with its head office in Dossobuono, Villafranca di Verona.

CrossConsense on Flight Operations conference in London

CrossConsense on Flight Operations conference in London

On the world’s leading Flight Operations event the team of CrossConsense presented CROSSMOS – THE eTLB software.

In order to be well prepared for paperless maintenance, more and more airlines around the world are considering to implement an eTLB into their fleet. And CrossConsense is providing a software solution that works on every AC, no matter which aircraft manufacturer produced it.

Attendees of the conference also had the opportunity to hear about the experiences of SWISS International Air Lines when implementing CROSSMOS in their fleet. The presentation focused on the obstacles SWISS had and managed to overcome when they introduced CROSSMOS (uncharged devices, bad connectivity, narrow bandwidth – general problems which had nothing to do with CROSSMOS itself).

If you are interested in the presentation, please do not hesitate to contact us.

CrossConsense UserDay & GoLive Party CROSSMOS

Successful CrossConsense UserDay and GoLive Party CROSSMOS®

Last week we at CrossConsense had our 4th UserDay with about 70 guests. During these 2 days, speakers from different companies as Aerospace Software Developments, Armac Systems, easybrowse, ILS, Inmarsat, Swiss AviationSoftware, SWISS, Teledyne as well as speakers from the CrossConsense team presented subjects around aviation. While listening to a lot of entertaining and interesting presentations, the visitors could not only learn something about the “big” subjects in aviation – Big Data, paperless maintenance, predictive maintenance, connectivity – but also had the opportunity to widen their knowledge in regards to the daily business of airlines like e.g. inventory optimization, buying and selling spare parts etc.

One of the highlights was the presentation of CROSSMOS® electronic logbook in which one could learn how easy it is to enter items like bird strikes into an eTL.

The GoLive Party of CROSSMOS® as well as the UserDay took place in an impressive setting at TheAircraft, a venue with a CheckIn, a cabin with aircraft seats and an original aircraft turbine that serves as speaker’s desk.

At the end of these successful days, the audience was taken along into a future with Black Holes serving as a possible solution to satisfy upcoming computational demand.

CrossConsense merges AMOS at Condor and Condor Berlin

AMOS Merge of Condor – Condor Berlin

The migration of two actively used dynamic databases is a big challenge that needs a very careful and well planned preparation. CrossConsense successfully managed to merge the different AMOS versions of Condor and Condor Berlin.

The obstacles that the migration had to overcome were as follows:

  • Handle data clashes on several AMOS areas, such as part definition, rotables, workorders…

  • The customer wish of having all data exactly as in the source environment, beyond the normal AMOS data transfer standards.

  • Applying advanced data filtering to merge only relevant data linked to the current fleet and operations.

Due to the careful preparation and good cooperation between the project-managers on all sides (Condor, Condor Berlin  and CrossConsense) the final AMOS merge did not take longer than 72 hours and more than 16 Mio records were migrated in total.

I want to say a really big thank you to … Mirko Lang of CrossConsense who accomplished the nearly impossible during this merge, in my point of view.”, says Andreas Rüskamp, AMOS Administrator at Condor Berlin GmbH.

If you are also interested in getting support for AMOS or need a data migration from your MRO system into AMOS or the other way round, please have a look on AMOS support by CrossConsense to get more information.
