AMOS merge performed by CrossConsense at Thomas Cook Group

Thomas Cook Group AMOS project

January 25, 2018

As part of the Thomas Cook Group Airline harmonisation and after much market place research, AMOS was chosen as the group maintenance information system with CrossConsense taking care of the data migration.

The project consisted of five separate elements that resulted in one group AMOS:

– Migration of the UK and DK data from the existing MIS to AMOS
– Merging of two existing Condor AMOS databases
– Merging of the existing BE AMOS database with UK/DK
– Merging of Condor and UK/DK/BE AMOS databases

CrossConsense played a huge part in the consulting and data migration project, from Mick Rhodes (CrossConsense consultant) leading the first migration phase to Mirko Lang (CrossConsense consultant) taking care of the database merges. Not only was the expertise in data migration extensive but also the wealth of knowledge of AMOS itself and of the aircraft maintenance business, all leading to a successful outcome.

The merging of the existing databases was by far the most challenging where Thomas Cook Group was continually faced with special migration files not being available. Mirko listened to the criteria of the business, advised the possibilities and offered solution after solution to reach the end goal.

Lufthansa CityLine presenting CROSSMOS at Flight Ops Conference in London

December 2, 2017

On the 11th Flight Operations Conference which took place in London beginning of this week Gerrit Jassnowski, Project Manager Paperless Maintenance, Lufthansa CityLine, presented a case study on how the Go-Live of CROSSMOS electronic logbook has been prepared. In front of an audience of more than 100 delegates of airlines from all over the world, Gerrit pointed out the expectations of cost savings because of implementing an ELB. He was supported by Udo Stapf, CEO of CrossConsense, who explained that CROSSMOS has been developed in close cooperation with several avionics specialists. If you are interested in the presentation, please contact marketing@crossconsense.de.

Udo Stapf presenting CROSSMOS on Inmarsat World in Lisbon

November 21, 2017

On the Inmarsat World Conference which took place in Lisbon, Portugal, beginning of this month, Udo Stapf, CEO of CrossConsense, gave a presentation on the importancy to have a good connection on the aircraft if you are going to implement an electronic techlog like CROSSMOS® in your fleet. The audience, not only existing of aviation interested people but also of Inmarsat Partners and Solution Providers learned that it is possible to store data in the CROSSMOS® client for quite a long time but that it is much more helpful if you can constantly synchronize your electronic logbook with the ground server and your backend system. He also spoke about the development of paper based techlogs in the cockpit. Since paper was invented 200 years before Christ, nothing happened until CROSSMOS® was brought to the market.

Farewell to Mick

A Fond Farewell to Mick Rhodes!

October 10, 2017

We would like to take this opportunity to give a warm goodbye to one of our fellow employees. Mick Rhodes – one of our most experienced AMOS consultants and supporter – is leaving us after more than 12 ½ years. Mick decided to retire and to spend his additional free time with his wife, his grandkids, his garden, his motor home etc. We at CrossConsense will miss the pleasurable experience of working with Mick.
Mick, we wish you all the best and thank you for your years of dedication, enthusiasm and team spirit.

Aircraft maintenance engineer with mobile maintenance device

CROSSMOS® with new feature: Mobile Maintenance Devices

October 10, 2017

Hi, my name is Chris and I am working as a maintenance manager. The problem I had working with an ETLB was, that I always needed to use either the master device or the spare device of the aircraft for which I had some work to do. But now, CROSSMOS® has a new feature. Whenever I am walking around in the hangar with my client device having CROSSMOS® installed, I have access to a list of aircraft within the signal range of my WiFi (Remember: It is a legal requirement that the master device with the ETLB stays on board). Now I can connect my device to the aircraft with which I want to start working. After having finished my work on that aircraft I can go to the next AC and start working on this one. It is also ensured that I always have the same software version as the master device so that data can be synchronized easily between the two devices, the ground server and the MRO backend system.
And the same is true for my colleagues from the cabin crew. They can use the client device as a personal device. This makes life much easier for them.

Lufthansa CityLine goes CROSSMOS

Lufthansa CityLine goes CROSSMOS

June 30, 2017

Since June, 1st 2017, Lufthansa CityLine has been a new CROSSMOS® customer and will start to implement the CROSSMOS® eTLB in its entire fleet of Bombardier and Embraer aircraft. Lufthansa CityLine has launched the project of integrating an eTLB in its fleet in order to contribute to the modernization of the processes and to increase the environmental performance both in flight operations and in technology. By implementing CROSSMOS®, Lufthansa CityLine is taking a further step towards digitization and process optimization within the Lufthansa Group.

As Lufthansa CityLine uses AMOS as its backend MRO system, the integration of CrossConsense’s electronic logbook is expected to be finished until the end of this year because the interface between CROSSMOS® and AMOS has been running successfully in other airlines for more than one year.
Lufthansa CityLine will use the pilot and maintenance modules of CROSSMOS® and users will be able to access CROSSMOS® from the EFB that is already in place.

Axel Trampnau, Head of Technical Fleet Management at Lufthansa CityLine, says: “We selected CROSSMOS because we need to rely on an uninterrupted process. It is so significant to digitize workflows and to share information with others. We will definitely not miss the traditional paper process once CROSSMOS will be implemented in our fleet. We look forward to realizing the full impact of the new digital solution.”

About Lufthansa CityLine: Lufthansa CityLine GmbH is a wholly-owned Group company of Deutsche Lufthansa AG. Currently, 7.7 million passengers fly with Lufthansa CityLine every year. With modern and environmentally compatible aircraft Lufthansa CityLine serves about 80 destinations in over 25 countries across Europe with a total of up to 320 daily flights.
