Siggi Gestsson and Udo Stapf on stage in Hollywood

CrossConsense & Rhino Aviation in Hollywood

On last weeks ILS Connect Summit taking place in Beverly Hills (Hollywood), Siggi Gestsson from Rhino Aviation and myself had a joined presentation on Business Intelligence (my part) and a practical application of Business Intelligence with regard to the ILS electronic marketplace (Siggi’s part). We pointed out that data in itself is not intelligent but that you need the right people and the suitable applications to make data and – following this – your business intelligent. If you are an ILS customer and want to learn more about the Rhino Analytical Studio (ILS integration with MRO Software), please do not hesitate to contact us at marketing@crossconsense.de.

If you are interested in ILSmart – the marketplace for the aviation industry, please have a look on ILS represented by CrossConsense to get more information.

CROSSMOS at Lufthansa CityLine

Lufthansa CityLine implements CROSSMOS® – A case study

In the newest edition of the Aircraft IT Operations a case study was published how Lufthansa CityLine prepared the implementation of CROSSMOS® Electronic Technical Logbook (eTL/eLB). The case study focuses on the minimum requirements of Lufthansa CityLine which had to taken into account before deciding in favor of a certain eTLB:

  • Because of the small cockpit size on current aircraft, compatibility with already existing hardware was important.
  • As Lufthansa CityLine does not currently have in-flight connectivity, the solution had to be one that does not require constant connection to ground.

If you want to learn more about the other reasons why Lufthansa CityLine decided to implement an eTechLog and about the preparations they made to implement CROSSMOS, please do not hesitate to contact us by writing an email to marketing@crossconsense.de or sign up for the case study by following this link:

AeroLogic goes CROSSMOS

AeroLogic goes CROSSMOS®

AeroLogic signed contract with CrossConsense to implement the CROSSMOS® eTLB. The joint venture of DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo currently operates 10 Boeing 777F Aircraft in a worldwide route network with destinations in Europe, Middle East, Asia, North and South America. By implementing CROSSMOS® AeroLogic is taking an important step moving towards paperless maintenance.

Michael Geis, SVP CAMO at Aerologic says: “The signs point towards growth for AeroLogic and its fleet size. Implementing CROSSMOS is an important step to optimize processes and get prepared for the future. The eTLB will reduce manual data recording, provides real-time Aircraft status at any time and substantially simplifies maintenance handling for flight crews, maintenance and operations control. As a side effect we expect higher data quality thus less control efforts. We are confident that CROSSMOS is the right tool to streamline processes and workflows to continuously ensure and enhance efficiency, punctuality, reliability and safety of our cargo operation.”

About AeroLogic: AeroLogic is a German cargo airline based in Schkeuditz near Leipzig. It is a joint-venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo which operates scheduled international and long-haul cargo services out of its hubs Leipzig/Halle Airport and Frankfurt Airport. The company was founded September 2007. Both of Aerologic’s shareholders are the company’s customers at the same time thus making use of the capacities of the air freighters. Aerologic started commercial operation in 2009 with a fleet of 8 Boeing 777 freighter. 2017 the Aerologic’s fleet size has been increased by two additional Boeing 777. This is a great commitment by the airlines shareholders to Aerologic’s operation and the ongoing success story.

Talk to the experts - Telephone conference SWISS on CROSSMOS

Talk to the experts!

During the last couple of months, our launching customer SWISS International Air Lines received a lot of enquiries from other airlines regarding SWISS’ implementation and operation of CROSSMOS®, the electronic techlog.

Questions like which kind of authentication SWISS is using, questions about the back-up process and hit a lot of other generic and specific topics were asked.

CrossConsense together with SWISS decided to have a conference call to which we would like to invite all interested airline employees. You will get the opportunity to discuss with us and experts from SWISS how they implemented CROSSMOS®, about their experience in operation and if they regretted the step of going paperless.

The conference call takes place on Tuesday, March 13th, 2018, at two different times:

07:00 UTC (≙ 08:00 Central Europe Time)

 16:00 UTC (≙ 17:00 Central Europe Time)

Please follow this link to sign up for the conference call. Even if you do not have time to participate, you might fill out the questionnaire if there is anything you want to ask the SWISS experts directly.

We are looking forward to talking to you.

AMOS merge performed by CrossConsense at Thomas Cook Group

Thomas Cook Group AMOS project

As part of the Thomas Cook Group Airline harmonisation and after much market place research, AMOS was chosen as the group maintenance information system with CrossConsense taking care of the data migration.

The project consisted of five separate elements that resulted in one group AMOS:

– Migration of the UK and DK data from the existing MIS to AMOS
– Merging of two existing Condor AMOS databases
– Merging of the existing BE AMOS database with UK/DK
– Merging of Condor and UK/DK/BE AMOS databases

CrossConsense played a huge part in the consulting and data migration project, from Mick Rhodes (CrossConsense consultant) leading the first migration phase to Mirko Lang (CrossConsense consultant) taking care of the database merges. Not only was the expertise in data migration extensive but also the wealth of knowledge of AMOS itself and of the aircraft maintenance business, all leading to a successful outcome.

The merging of the existing databases was by far the most challenging where Thomas Cook Group was continually faced with special migration files not being available. Mirko listened to the criteria of the business, advised the possibilities and offered solution after solution to reach the end goal.

If you are also interested in getting support for AMOS, please have a look on AMOS support by CrossConsense to get more information.

Udo Stapf presenting CROSSMOS on Inmarsat World in Lisbon

On the Inmarsat World Conference which took place in Lisbon, Portugal, beginning of this month, Udo Stapf, CEO of CrossConsense, gave a presentation on the importancy to have a good connection on the aircraft if you are going to implement an electronic techlog like CROSSMOS® in your fleet. The audience, not only existing of aviation interested people but also of Inmarsat Partners and Solution Providers learned that it is possible to store data in the CROSSMOS® client for quite a long time but that it is much more helpful if you can constantly synchronize your electronic logbook with the ground server and your backend system. He also spoke about the development of paper based techlogs in the cockpit. Since paper was invented 200 years before Christ, nothing happened until CROSSMOS® was brought to the market.
